The CMA Board
 

CMA is technically a ministry of Australian Evangelical Alliance, but we have our own National board which functions with full responsibility.

 
Ian Lucas

Ian Lucas (Chairman)

Currently Ian owns and operates Alpha Precast Concrete Products and Timbercrete Sydney (two divisions of Achieving Excellence Pty Ltd), businesses which manufacture and market architectural precast concrete products and a unique Australian developed Eco building block and associated materials. Before establishing Achieving Excellence Ian was CEO of the international aid and relief organisation Samaritan's Purse Australia (founded by Billy Graham's son, Franklin) taking the ministry from a cold start to where it now ranks amongst the top Australian faith based agencies.  He accepted the challenge of Samaritans Purse after a long commercial career culminating in his appointment as Managing Director/CEO of the Elizabeth Arden Group in the United Kingdom. He is an active member of Castle Hill Community Church of Christ in Sydney. Ian maintains his active involvement in lay preaching, mentoring and encouraging Christian leaders. He and Kathy have two grown, married children, Sally and Ben and three beautiful grandchildren.

   
Kathi Cohen

Kathi Cohen

Kathi Cohen, a CMA Board member since 2002. Born in Santa Barbara, she is married to Rev. David Cohen and has worked closely with him since 2000. Together they co-founded and direct Moringa Associates, Inc, serving the church, in Australia, and in the developing world with: Leadership Development and Resourcing; Community Transformation, and Conflict Management. They are also Evangelical Alliance New South Wales Joint Co-ordinators. Previously, between 2001 and May 2006 she was the Promotion Manager of CNEC Partners International. From 1996 to 2000 she was Operations Director for The Evangelical Fellowship of Mission Agencies, USA, serving the leadership needs of 100 North American Mission agency executives. Between 1984 and 1994 she served with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in various training, communications and operations roles internationally. Her work has taken her to over 45 countries. She studied at Eastern College of St. David’s, PA where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organisational Management and became a member of Delta Mu Delta, National Honour Society in Business Administration, St. David’s, PA. In August 2005 she became an Australian citizen.

   

Willma Gallet

Wilma Gallet has extensive experience working within the Church sector in the area of social policy and mission development, having worked with The Salvation Army from 1995 until 2004 during which time she was actively involved in policy & programme development and advocacy primarily in the area of unemployment and youth & family services. She was the founder and the CEO of The Salvation Army Employment Plus, (now the largest provider of employment services under the Government’s Job Network umbrella) since its inception in 1998 until August 2003. Wilma has a passion for social justice and improving options for people who are at risk of social marginalisation. She is strongly committed to building a cohesive, inclusive society where the inherent worth or each individual is recognised and valued.

   
Richard Menteith

Richard Menteith AM

Richard is the General Manager Corporate Services with Wesley Mission in Sydney working alongside Rev. Dr. Gordon Moyes AC. He has worked at Wesley Mission since 1980. His area of responsibility covers a wide range of duties including Finance, Administration, Legal, Property Development, Quality, Information Technology, Fundraising, Business Activities, Strategic Planning and Alliances, Media and Communications. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant having spent twelve years with Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. Chartered Accountants (now KPMG). Outside the Mission Richard is currently President of Churches of Christ in Australia. In the past his positions have included treasurer of the Sydney College of Divinity and a board member and treasurer of Newcastle City Mission.

   
Jim Rawson

Dr. Jim Rawson OAM

Jim is currently the Campus Coordinator for QUT Student Life (Campus Crusade). Prior to that he was State Director, Scripture Union Queensland for almost 30 years, during which time he was responsible for growing SU into one of the best respected organisations of its kind in the state. Jim possesses significant leadership and management skills, with the ability to generate new ideas and initiate major change and development in the organisations with which he has been associated.

   
Tom Slater

Tom Slater

Tom is the National Director of Australian Evangelical Alliance, and brings to the CMA board a wide experience in the non-profit sector and para-church ministry. A former State Director of Scripture Union, he worked as a consultant to denominations, the William Buckland Foundation, and the Tasmanian Government before coming to EA in 1998. Tom conceived and pioneered the Regional Environmental Employment Program, pulling together community organisations, state and local government, training providers and employers. He has served on the boards of several ministries, was the first chairman of the Victorian and Australian Camping Associations, and has traveled widely in Australia and overseas as a speaker and consultant on camping.

Gary Williams

Gary Williams

Gary has been involved in Christian ministry all his life. In 1984-5 he spent two years of discipleship training at Cornerstone Community in Bourke and Dysart, then worked with Youth for Christ / Youth Concern on the Gold Coast for three years. From there he completed a teaching degree in High School Maths & Computing, and then worked as Associate Pastor (Administration) at Southport Church of Christ on the Gold Coast for eight years.. He left the church in 2001 to undertake the establishment of CMA, where he is currently National Director. He is currently completing a Master of Business (Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies) at Qld. University of Technology, and lives on the Gold Coast with his wife Debbie, and two children Abby and Landon.
