Code of Practice
 

Although ‘Management’ is our middle name, ‘Christian’ is our first name, and in order to gain membership in CMA, prospective members are required to subscribe to a Code of Practice, outlined below, which is consistent with what would be expected of a Christian individual or organisation.

Christian Faith & Lifestyle

CMA Members will

  • affirm their adherence to the Christian faith
  • endeavour, by the grace of God, to live their lives in obedience to the principles contained in the Scriptures
  • seek to glorify God in all things, and to demonstrate His love to all people

Compliance with relevant regulations

CMA members will

  • endeavour to identify all regulations with which they have a legal obligation to comply
  • comply fully and truthfully with all such regulations

Accountability in Governance

CMA members will

  • identify what are the general minimum requirements (if they exist) for the governance of any activity, ministry or business they are engaged in
  • meet or exceed such requirements, if they exist
  • voluntarily engage in some form of external accountability, if no compulsory obligation exists

Integrity in Fundraising and Financial Management

CMA members will
  • seek to raise funds only for valid and proper causes
  • refrain from using unethical methods of fundraising
  • apply donated funds only to the causes for which the funds were given
  • keep accurate financial records of all income and expenditure
  • submit openly to whatever system of governance or accountability they are operating under.

Honesty in Communication & Reporting

CMA members will

  • ensure that all communication, whether written, verbal or otherwise, contains no statements which are known to be untruthful or exaggerated
  • ensure that relevant facts are reported truthfully to any body or agency which has a reasonable right to know such facts.
