Jim Collins has been saying for years: It's not What You Make, it's What You Stand For; and in Good To Great, the leadership of great organisations/companies is marked by 'a paradoxical blend of personal humility and professional will'.
In 2009 Roy M. Spence in his new book It's Not What You Sell, It's What You Stand For: Why Every Extraordinary Business Is Driven by Purpose
said: "At the intersection of the passions and strengths of the organization and the needs of the world stands a great purpose". He believes that "a company's journey and vision should begin a clear understanding of the difference that you want to make in the world."
If the notion of organisational purpose is, perhaps, not unique to Christian or religious organisations, the uniquely Christian virtue: humility, has arguably been the most revolutionary in history.
