Personal liability of Board members in employment law and OH&S matters

A CMA Board Training Module
  When Feb 9, 2017, 3:15 pm for a 3.30 start, concludes at 4:30 pm
Where One Community Church, 184 Surrey Rd, Blackburn, VIC
Who Board members and executive staff of Christian churches, schools and ministries
Cost* $55.00, CMA Member Cost $35.00

A common question asked by Board members is "am I really personally liable?"  This session will explain when and how Board members can become personally liable as a result of mistakes or errors in dealing with employees and volunteers, and in occupational health and safety matters.  Personal liability can arise in these areas, even for directors of incorporated organisations.

It will focus on practical tips and tools to help Board members ensure that their organisation is legally compliant in the area of employment law and occupational health and safety, and protect themselves from exposure in this area.

Note: There are two training modules offered on 7th November- this one at 3.30pm, preceeded by afternoon tea at 3.00pm, preceeded at 2.00 by a panel session, facilitated by Elizabeth Shalders, 'Your Questions about the Board, Answered'. You may come to just one session by booking in to the relevant session. If you choose to attend both sessions, a discounted, combined price of $60 (CMA Subscribers) or $85 (full price) applies. To book in for both sessions, simply register as normal for either one of the sessions, and in the 'Adjacent Events' section of the registration form, select the 'Register for Both Sessions' option. Afternoon tea is included, whichever session(s) you are attending.

*Subscriber means paid subscribers (formerly members) of CMA. If attending under an organisational subscription, you must be one of the organisation's nominated subscribers to receive the discount. Just receiving CMA emails does not make you a subscriber.
