Scholarship Conditions

By applying for a CMA Scholarship, applicants affirm their agreement with these conditions:

The maximum of any single scholarship will be $12,500 including GST if applicable. (including any travel component, see below).
Additional travel costs, up to a maximum of 25% of the tuition fee, may be applied for, but will not automatically be granted even if the main application is successful.
Scholarship funds must be applied only towards the program or course of study proposed in the application form.
It is the applicant's responsibility, prior to submitting an application, to satisfy themselves that they meet the institution's eligibility requirements for any course being proposed. If a scholarship is awarded and the applicant is then refused entry to the course, a full refund of the scholarship will be required.
Unless prevented by disability or another important reason, we require applications to be made online via the Apply Online link. If a serious obstacle prevents you from using online submission, you may submit a written Application Form by printing the form from the CMA website.
Applications must be received online, or at the CMA Office PO Box, no later than midnight on the closing date, 24th February 2012. Emailed applications will not be accepted. If lodging by post, we recommend using registered post to be sure it arrives, or at least contacting the CMA office, prior to the closing date, to confirm that your application arrived.
Apart from any travel costs specifically included in the scholarship, all related expenses and details are the responsibility of the applicant.
Upon receiving a scholarship, the applicant must register / enrol promptly in the course, and provide confirmation to the CMA office.
Applicants are generally expected to have successfully completed their course within 18 months of the award, unless the nature of the course makes this impossible. If applicants withdraw from a course, or fail to register in time to complete it within 18 months, or generally demonstrate a lack of diligence, some or all of the Scholarship may be required to be returned.
The awarding of scholarships is entirely at the discretion of the CMA Scholarship Selection Panel, and their decision is final.
Applicants are required to complete a 'Report Form' within two weeks of completing their course. They are also required to complete a 'Follow-Up Report Form' six months after completion.
Each year CMA will host a leadership training event, combined with a celebration / fundraising function to invite donors to support the Scholarship Fund. These events will take place in several capital cities. Grantees agree to attend one of these events, at their own cost*, and where invited, to provide some input / teaching as a means of sharing with the wider audience what they have learned. As a general principle, grantees are expected to enter into the general spirit of sharing what they have learned to assist other leaders who may not have access to such training.
Applicants authorise the CMA Selection Panel to contact the listed CEO and referees to discuss their application.
Applicants authorise CMA to provide a copy of their application to the Filtering Panel, the Selection Panel, and the CEO and referees listed in the application.
Applicants authorise CMA to use their name, organisation and course of study in publicity relating to the Scholarship Program
Applicants acknowledge that CMA may vary or reverse any decision made on the basis of incorrect or misleading information.

*If possible, grantees are requested to pay the member price for these events. If this cost is a barrier, then grantees are expected to at least pay the sum of $100 towards their costs.
